Concert Information

Welcome to Norwalk Music performances!

The Norwalk High School Instrumental Music Department presents concerts throughout the school year featuring our Concert Band, Jazz Band, String Orchestra, Drumline, Pep Band, and special student performers.

Our concerts are designed to celebrate student growth, showcase musical achievement, and bring our school community together through live performance.

Upcoming Concerts

Please check the program calendar for current concert dates, call times, locations, ticket information, and event updates.

Concert details may vary depending on the event, venue, and performance schedule.

Tickets
Ticket information will be shared before each concert.

Some concerts may require tickets, while others may be free community performances. Ticket sales help support student experiences, music supplies, equipment, field trips, concert production, and program needs.

Please review all concert communication carefully before each event.

Location
Concert locations may vary depending on the event.

Common performance locations may include:
  • Norwalk High School
  • Excelsior Auditorium
  • Community performance venues
  • Festival or field trip locations

Please check each event announcement for the confirmed venue, address, arrival time, and parking information.

Arrival & Doors
Families and guests are encouraged to arrive early to allow time for parking, check-in, seating, and ticketing if applicable.

Doors typically open before the performance begins. Specific arrival and door times will be shared for each event.

Concert Etiquette
To help create a respectful and enjoyable concert experience for all performers and audience members, guests are asked to:
  • Silence phones and electronic devices
  • Remain seated during performances
  • Avoid talking while students are performing
  • Enter and exit between pieces when possible
  • Keep aisles and walkways clear
  • Supervise young children
  • Show respect for all performers
  • Applaud and celebrate student achievement

Photos and videos may be allowed depending on the event, but flash photography should be avoided during performances.

Student Call Times
Student call times are usually earlier than the public start time.

Students are expected to arrive on time, dressed appropriately, with all required music, instruments, equipment, and materials.

Families should review student-specific communication before each event for call time, attire, drop-off location, and dismissal information.

Concert Attire
Concert attire may vary by ensemble and event.

Students should follow the attire instructions provided by Mr. Castañeda before each performance. Common attire may include concert black, program polos, formal concert wear, or event-specific clothing.

Students who have questions about attire should ask in advance.

Accessibility & Guest Needs
Families needing accessibility support, seating assistance, or other accommodations should contact Mr. Castañeda before the event when possible.

Supporting the Program
Attending concerts is one of the best ways to support our students.

Families and community members can also support Norwalk Music by:
  • Purchasing tickets when applicable
  • Sharing event announcements
  • Donating supplies
  • Volunteering at performances
  • Encouraging student attendance and preparation
  • Following and sharing program highlights on social media
