Parent Volunteers, Donations & Community Support

The Norwalk High School Instrumental Music Department is able to provide meaningful experiences for students because of the support of families, volunteers, school staff, and community partners.

From concerts and football games to parades, festivals, field trips, and special events, every helping hand makes a difference.

You do not need to volunteer for everything. Even small support helps our students succeed.


How Families Can Help
Families can support Norwalk Music by:
  • Reading program communication
  • Helping students arrive on time
  • Encouraging practice at home
  • Supporting attendance at rehearsals and performances
  • Helping students stay organized
  • Volunteering at events when available
  • Donating supplies or program materials
  • Sharing program announcements and performances with the community

Volunteer Opportunities
Parent and family volunteers help the program run smoothly throughout the school year.

Volunteer opportunities may include:
  • Concert check-in
  • Ticket table support
  • Uniform assistance
  • Equipment loading and unloading
  • Football game support
  • Parade support
  • Chaperoning field trips
  • Hospitality for events
  • Festival hosting
  • Translation support
  • Setup and cleanup
  • Photography or media support
Some volunteer roles may require district clearance, fingerprinting, or additional approval through Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District.

Chaperones & Field Trips
Chaperones play an important role in helping keep students safe, organized, and supported during performances, trips, and off-campus events.

Families interested in chaperoning should contact Mr. Castañeda for current district requirements and approval steps.


Donate Supplies & Wish Lists

Looking for a simple way to support Norwalk Music?

Families and community members can help by purchasing needed items directly through our official Amazon Wish Lists, including classroom supplies, music materials, and our Water & Snack Donation Drive.
