Our Standard. Our Sound. Our Strength.
The L.A.N.C.E.R. Values
The Norwalk High School Instrumental Music Department is built on more than performance. Our program is built on character, teamwork, preparation, and pride in representing Norwalk High School.

The L.A.N.C.E.R. values guide how we rehearse, perform, lead, and support one another.

L — Leadership We lead by example in every rehearsal, performance, classroom, and community setting.

Leadership means being reliable, prepared, respectful, and willing to help others succeed.

A — Artistry We create performances with purpose, expression, and pride.
Artistry means going beyond notes and rhythms to communicate emotion, energy, and meaning through music.

N — Nobility We represent Norwalk High School with integrity, respect, and pride.

Nobility means doing the right thing, treating others with kindness, and carrying ourselves with character on and off the stage.

C — Commitment We show up, work hard, and follow through.

Commitment means being present, prepared, and responsible to the ensemble, because every student plays an important role in the success of the program.

E — Excellence We strive to improve every day.

Excellence means holding ourselves to high standards in musicianship, behavior, teamwork, and performance.

R — Resilience We grow through challenges.

Resilience means staying positive, learning from mistakes, supporting one another, and continuing forward even when the work is difficult.

Our Program Culture
Together, these values shape the culture of Norwalk Music.

They remind us that every rehearsal, performance, event, and act of leadership is an opportunity to become stronger musicians, stronger teammates, and stronger people.
